Waldburg Castle

From roof to cellar – the museum in brief

The museum houses displays of items relating to the history of Waldburg castle, its resident family and the areas which originally came under its sway. Examples of these include sculptures, historical paintings and maps.
The Waldburg played an important regional role in the early 19th century.

  • Ground floor – the Middle Ages, a bit dark and mysterious
  • First floor – a selection of castle lords, enlightened, pious and belligerent
  • Second floor and chapel – the portrait of an age: the nobility in the Baroque era
  • Third floor – the times, they are a-changing: the 19th and 20th centuries
  • The viewing platform – as far as the eye can see

At the Waldburg museum the season ends when winter begins. This year the Waldburg museum will be open to visitors from 31st March till 4th November.

For winter visitors, Waldburg castle organises medieval banquets, Christmas parties and the like.
