André Chénier

André Chénier is the best-known work of the Italian composer Umberto Giordano. It is a historical drama of cutting wit and a deeply moving human tragedy. Set against the background of the French revolution, the opera is gripping, both as a passionate love story and a historical “whodunnit”.
